Available to all Post-Purchase customers. Users with the Administrator or Campaign Manager role can create and manage campaigns.

Summary

Campaign Manager lets you create, schedule and target promotional campaigns on your Tracking Pages and in your notification emails, so shoppers who check on an order also see your offers. Impressions, clicks and click-through rate are reported per campaign from one dashboard.

Who it’s for

Marketing and e-commerce teams who want the tracking moment to do more than show a parcel’s location. A Tracking Page is opened by shoppers who have already bought from you, which makes it a place to promote what comes next without any extra traffic acquisition.

Key benefits

  • Your Tracking Page promotes what’s next. Banners sit on the page shoppers open to follow their delivery, and the same campaign can run in your email notifications through field placeholders.
  • Offers can match the order. Target by shipment tag, product category, product name or product ID, so a shopper who bought maternity products sees your baby range.
  • Campaigns end on their own. Set an end date, an impression cap or a click cap. The campaign ends at whichever limit is reached first.
  • The banner space is never empty. If a shipment does not match a campaign, a lower-priority campaign takes its place, and when no campaign applies the Tracking Page falls back to its own marketing banner.
  • Performance is measured in one place. The dashboard shows impressions, unique impressions, clicks and click-through rate for the last 14 days, with the change against the previous 14 days.

How it works

Campaign configuration

A campaign needs five things before it can be activated: a name, a layout, one image, a priority and at least one Tracking Page. When a campaign has a combination of an end date, an impression cap and a click cap, it ends when the first limit is reached.

Layouts and images

The layout decides how much of the Tracking Page banner width a campaign takes and how many campaigns can show side by side. Images are not resized, so an image that does not match the recommended size shows at its own dimensions. On mobile, campaign banners stack below each other.

Audience targeting

Audience configuration decides which shipments a campaign is shown for.
  • Tracking Page. Required. Choose one or more active Tracking Pages. Only active Tracking Pages appear in the list.
  • Shipment tag filter. Optional. The campaign only shows for shipments that carry the selected tags. With several tags, a shipment must carry all of them. You can only select tags that have already been added to at least one shipment.
  • Product filters. Optional. Product category, product name and product ID. The campaign only shows for shipments with at least one line item matching the selected values. Within one field, any of the listed values matches. Across fields, all conditions must be met. Values must match the shipment’s line item data exactly.
When both a tag filter and product filters are set, a shipment must satisfy both. Example: to promote newborn products to shoppers who recently bought maternity products, set the product category filter to the same value your shipments carry in their line items, for instance Maternity.

Priority and fallback

Priority exists to prevent empty banner slots. By default only high-priority campaigns are shown. When a high-priority campaign is filtered out for the shipment being viewed, the Tracking Page falls back to a medium-priority campaign, then to a low-priority campaign. When nothing applies, the Tracking Page shows its own marketing banner configuration. To keep the fallback chain consistent, a Tracking Page can hold at most:
  • three large-scale campaigns (one per priority), or
  • six medium-scale campaigns (two per priority), or
  • nine small-scale campaigns (three per priority).
Saving a campaign that breaks these limits shows an error. When fewer campaigns than the layout allows are shown, one or two small-scale images, or a single medium-scale image, are centered. This placement logic applies to desktop only.

Status, scheduling and changes

A campaign is in one of three statuses: Draft (not shown), Active (shown on its Tracking Pages) or Ended (no longer shown). The campaign overview lists each campaign with its scheduled or actual start and end times, total impressions, unique impressions, clicks and click-through rate.
  • You can activate a draft campaign and deactivate an active one manually, which sets the start or end time to now and overrides the schedule.
  • An ended campaign can be reactivated if its end date is not in the past and it has not reached its impression or click cap. Reactivation keeps the original start date.
  • Every field can be edited in any status except the timezone, the start date and the start time.

Measuring performance

The Campaign Manager dashboard covers the last 14 days and shows the change against the previous 14 days for each metric. The dashboard also plots impressions against clicks per day, lists the top three campaigns by click-through rate, and opens the same metrics for a single campaign in a side panel. For other date ranges and filters, use Reports & Analysis. A section for email notification campaigns is on the dashboard but not yet reporting; campaigns can already be placed in emails through field placeholders.

Set up in the portal

Go to Post-Purchase > Campaign Manager and select Add Campaign. If you have not created a campaign before, you start from a short welcome page.
  1. Name the campaign. To have it start and stop on its own, set a timezone and the start and end date and time. Add an impression cap or click cap if you want the campaign to end at a given volume.
  2. Choose a promotion layout type and upload the image.
  3. Add the redirect URL for the page shoppers land on when they click.
  4. Choose a priority.
  5. Under audience configuration, select the Tracking Pages and any shipment tags or product filters, then save.
  6. Select Preview to see the banner on your Tracking Page, then Activate.
Always add a redirect URL. Without one, Campaign Manager cannot count clicks or click-through rate.
If you preview on several Tracking Pages at once, Chrome may block the extra windows. Allow pop-ups for the Perform.AI portal.
To place a campaign in an email notification, add the campaign field placeholders to the notification template. See Delivery Notifications.

FAQ

Can campaigns appear in notification emails?

Yes. Add a campaign to an email notification using the campaign field placeholders in your notification template.

Why isn’t my campaign showing on the Tracking Page?

Check that the tracking widget is installed on the page, that the campaign is Active and linked to that Tracking Page, that the shipment matches its tag and product filters, and that it has not reached a cap. A higher-priority campaign may also be using the slot.

What is the difference between a unique and a total impression cap?

A total cap counts every view, so one shopper viewing the banner several times counts several times. A unique cap counts each shopper once. Choose unique to reach as many different shoppers as possible and total to reach a given number of views.

Can I see campaign results for more than 14 days?

The Campaign Manager dashboard always shows the last 14 days. For other date ranges, open Reports & Analysis.

Can I reactivate an ended campaign?

Yes, if its end date is still in the future and it has not reached its impression or click cap. Update the configuration if needed, then activate it again.

Which roles can manage campaigns?

Users with the Administrator role or the Campaign Manager role. The Campaign Manager role has full access to Campaign Manager and view-only access to Notifications.
