Summary
Personas add an audience lens to AI Commerce Visibility. You define the buyer segments that matter to your business, such as a value-driven parent or a premium enthusiast, link them to your product categories per market, and AI Commerce Visibility generates prompts phrased the way that audience asks. Persona View then shows every chart, ranking and table through one persona’s prompts.Who it’s for
Marketing and e-commerce teams who segment their market and want to know whether AI assistants recommend them to each segment. A budget-conscious first-time buyer and a premium enthusiast ask very different questions, and a brand can be recommended often to one while being absent for the other.Key benefits
- A starter set is generated for you. When your account is activated, AI Commerce Visibility creates draft personas from your company name, brand attributes and product attributes. You review, edit or add before anything runs.
- Personas add to your data, they never replace it. Persona prompts run alongside the generic prompt set, so your existing visibility data is unchanged.
- Prompts are phrased the way the audience asks. For each linked persona, prompts are reshaped around the persona’s description and written as real buyer questions.
- One activation, every category and market. Activating a persona links it to all categories in all markets, and you then remove it from markets where it is not relevant.
- Every insight tab gets the lens. Persona View filters the Dashboard, Brand, Product, Merchant, Trust and Sources tabs to one persona.
How it works
Persona fields and limits
Lifecycle
A persona moves through Draft, Active and Deactivated or Deleted.
Editing is only possible in Draft. Deleting is permanent and only possible in Draft. Personas are managed one at a time; bulk activate, deactivate and delete are not available, and personas cannot be cloned or shared across accounts.
Generated starter personas
Once brand and product discovery is complete for your account, AI Commerce Visibility creates a starter set of personas in Draft from your company name, brand attributes and product attributes. The number and content vary per account; there is no fixed template.Linking and markets
Activating a persona links it to every product category in every market. You can then remove the persona from individual markets while keeping it active elsewhere, for instance when a segment exists in one country but not another.Prompt generation and execution
For each linked persona and category, AI Commerce Visibility generates persona-specific prompts next to the generic set, conditioning the questions on the persona’s description and phrasing them as a real buyer would. Persona prompts are picked up on the next scheduled run, together with the generic prompts, across the AI assistants you track. Activation does not trigger an immediate run. Only future runs generate persona prompts; historical data is not reprocessed.Persona View
Persona View is a filter on every Insights tab. Selecting a persona re-renders all charts, rankings and tables from that persona’s prompts. One persona is shown at a time; side-by-side comparison of two personas is not available. The Persona filter also applies to the Sources and Citations tabs and to data exports, and content generation can be narrowed by persona.Set up in the portal
Go to AI Commerce Visibility > Configuration > Personas.- Review the draft personas generated for your account. Edit the name or description of any you want to keep, or add your own with a name and description.
- Activate each persona you want to track. It is linked to every category in every market.
- To tailor a persona, remove it from the markets where it is not relevant.
- Wait for the next scheduled run. Persona prompts run together with the generic prompts.
- On any Insights tab, select the persona in Persona View to see the results through that audience.
