Summary
Product Visibility, the Product tab in AI Commerce Visibility, shows which specific product models AI assistants suggest when shoppers ask for a product recommendation in your category, and how each model compares with competitor products on the attributes that matter, such as cushioning and weight for running shoes. It tells you whether your best products are part of the conversation at all.Who it’s for
Merchandising, product marketing and e-commerce teams. A brand can be well known while a specific model is left out of AI answers because of one attribute, and only a model-level view shows which product is winning, which is invisible, and why.Key benefits
- Model-level, not brand-level. The tab lists every product model named in the responses, so you can compare your flagship with a competitor’s model rather than brand with brand.
- Attributes you choose. Up to five product attributes per category, proposed from how the category is discussed online and editable by you, so the comparison matches what shoppers ask about.
- Only recommended products appear. The ranked list is filtered to models that AI assistants actually mention, so you see what shoppers using an assistant would discover.
- You see the sources behind a model. The product detail panel lists the publications and articles the assistants drew on for that model’s attributes.
- Every number is traceable. View Prompts on any chart opens the prompts, answers and sources behind it.
How it works
Data used
The Product tab uses only prompts in the Product prompt category, for instance “Which running shoe has the best cushioning?”, plus the product attribute prompts that compare models on one attribute. Visibility, Ranking and Sentiment are defined as on the Brand tab and shown per AI assistant, with benchmarking tables, trend lines, a competitor comparison toggle and the standard filters for product category, market, AI model, competitors, persona and previous period.Product attributes
Attribute radar and table
- Attribute radar. Plots your product models against competitor models on each attribute, with a current versus previous period view.
- Attribute table. One percentage per attribute per model, colour coded, with a trend against the previous period. Select a competitor model to compare it with your own.
- Attribute explanation. Expand an attribute row to read why the value differs from the selected competitor product. Product explanations aggregate the reasoning across your full model range, so they describe your brand’s position on that attribute rather than a single model.
Ranked product list
A table of every product model named in the responses: rank, brand and model, average value, and the value per attribute. Models that AI assistants do not mention are left out. The list is searchable by brand and model, sortable by any attribute and paginated.Product detail panel
Selecting a model opens a panel that ranks it against the top competitor models per attribute. Expanding an attribute shows the three models that lead on it across the category. A citations section lists the publications and articles the assistants drew on for that model, with the count per source and links to the articles. Why visibility matters at model level
A model with strong reviews and strong attributes can still be absent from AI answers. When the assistants have not picked up a model, for instance a new release, they keep recommending the previous one. The ranked list and the attribute values show when the assistants start naming the new model.Set up in the portal
