# Klaviyo

> Send shipment events from Perform.AI to Klaviyo so marketing teams can trigger email and SMS flows from delivery status.

**Available to all Post-Purchase customers.**

## Summary

The Klaviyo integration sends shipment events from Perform.AI to your Klaviyo account, so the email and SMS flows you already run in Klaviyo can react to delivery status. You connect a Klaviyo account once, then create notifications in Perform.AI that use Klaviyo as the channel.

## Who it’s for

Marketing and CRM teams who send customer communication from Klaviyo and want delivery updates to come from the same place, with the same templates and segmentation, instead of a second notification system.

## Key benefits

* **Delivery events reach your existing flows.** Each notification you create in Perform.AI pushes an event to Klaviyo when its trigger fires, so a shipped, out-for-delivery or delivered event can start a flow you design in Klaviyo.
* **One connection, many notifications.** Connect a Klaviyo account once and reuse it across as many notifications as you need, each with its own trigger and filters.
* **Several Klaviyo accounts in one organization.** Add more than one Klaviyo account and choose which one each notification sends to.
* **Same triggers and filters as every other channel.** Klaviyo notifications use the trigger catalogue and the carrier, Tracking Page and tag filters of the Notification Center.

## How it works

### Connecting a Klaviyo account

| Field | Rule |
| - | - |
| Klaviyo Account Name | A name that identifies this account in Perform.AI. You choose it when creating a notification. |
| API Key | Your Klaviyo account’s public API key, a six-character code found in Klaviyo under **Settings** > **API Keys**. It is case-sensitive. Each API key can be connected only once. |

After you activate the account, its status changes to Activated and it appears at the top of the Integrations Overview page.

### Klaviyo notifications

A Klaviyo notification is created in the Notification Center like an email, SMS or webhook notification, with Klaviyo selected as the channel.

| Setting | Rule |
| - | - |
| Notification name | Required. Up to 32 characters. |
| Trigger | Choose a trigger category from the list. The list shows each trigger with its event types. |
| Filters | Optional. Limit the notification to shipments with a given carrier, Tracking Page or tags. |
| Klaviyo account | The connected account this notification sends to. |

The notification sends when a shipment receives an event that matches the trigger and passes the filters. What happens next, such as which flow starts and what the message says, is configured in Klaviyo.

## Set up in the portal

Connect the account first, then create the notification.

1. Go to **Settings** > **Integrations**, find the **Klaviyo** tile and select **Add Account**.
2. Enter a **Klaviyo Account Name** and the account’s public **API Key**, then select **Activate**. A success banner appears and the account status changes to Activated.
3. Go to **Post-Purchase** > **Notifications** and select **Add Notification**.
4. Select **Klaviyo** as the communication channel.
5. Enter a notification name (up to 32 characters) and choose the trigger category.
6. Add any carrier, Tracking Page or tag filters.
7. Under **Klaviyo Account Name**, choose the account to send to. Select **Save**, then **Activate**.

> [!TIP]
>
> The Klaviyo API key is case-sensitive. Copy it from Klaviyo rather than typing it.

## Use via API and MCP

The Klaviyo connection has no endpoint of its own. The same shipment events are available to your own systems through [webhooks](https://developers.perform.ai/guides/webhooks.md), and the shopper contact fields that notifications use are set on the shipment as described in [Notifications](https://developers.perform.ai/guides/notifications.md).

## FAQ

### Where do I find my Klaviyo API key?

In Klaviyo, under **Settings** > **API Keys**. Use the public API key, which is a six-character code.

### Can I connect more than one Klaviyo account?

Yes. Add each account from the Klaviyo tile on the Integrations page. When you create a notification you choose which account it sends to. Each API key can only be connected once.

### Which shipments does a Klaviyo notification cover?

All shipments that receive an event matching the trigger, unless you add filters. Filters limit the notification to selected carriers, Tracking Pages or shipment tags.

### Who writes the email or SMS that the shopper receives?

You do, in Klaviyo. Perform.AI sends the event; the flow, template and sending are handled in your Klaviyo account.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
| - | - | - |
| The Klaviyo account will not activate | The API key was entered with the wrong case, or it is already connected | Copy the public API key from Klaviyo again. Each key can be connected only once. |
| Nothing arrives in Klaviyo | The notification was saved but not activated | Open the notification in **Post-Purchase** > **Notifications** and select **Activate**. |
| Only some shipments trigger the flow | Carrier, Tracking Page or tag filters exclude the others | Edit the notification’s filters, or remove them to cover all shipments. |
