# Trust

> Trust shows what AI assistants say about your estimated delivery dates, delivery experience and returns compared with marketplaces and competitor stores.

**Available to all AI Commerce Visibility customers.**

## Summary

Trust, the **Trust** tab in AI Commerce Visibility, shows what AI assistants say about a store's reliability at the moment a shopper decides whether to buy: whether delivery dates are kept, how the delivery goes, and how returns are handled. It compares your own store with marketplaces and competitor stores on these three fixed attributes and shows the sources the assistants drew on.

## Who it’s for

E-commerce, logistics and operations teams. A shopper's assistant checks a store's delivery and returns reputation before it recommends where to buy, and that reputation is built from what customers say online. This tab shows how your delivery promise, delivery experience and returns are described, so operations and marketing can act on the same record.

## Key benefits

* **Three attributes everyone understands.** Estimated delivery date, delivery experience and returns are the same for every category and every store, so comparisons are direct.
* **You see where your store stands.** A trust chart and a ranked list compare every recommended store, tagged by type, on the three attributes.
* **You see the gap against any store.** Select a marketplace or competitor to compare attribute by attribute, with an explanation of why the delivery, delivery date or returns perception differs.
* **You see the sources.** The store detail panel lists the publications, articles and reviews that discuss its delivery and returns, tagged by source type.
* **It connects to what you can fix.** Clear delivery promises, accurate delivery dates and simple returns are what the assistants read about, and the rest of Perform.AI runs them.

## How it works

### Data used

The Trust tab uses only prompts in the Trust prompt category, for instance "Is this online store reliable for delivery?". The values describe how AI assistants talk about a store's delivery and returns, drawn from the reviews, articles and other public content they reference, not from your internal delivery data. No integration with your carriers or warehouse is needed.

### Trust attributes

The three attributes are fixed and do not change with the product category.

| Attribute | What the assistants' answers are read for |
| - | - |
| EDD (estimated delivery date) | Whether the store's stated delivery dates are kept, how fast delivery is compared with others, and how clear the delivery promise is. |
| Delivery experience | The quality of the delivery itself: packaging, tracking, delivery communication, carrier performance, damage and loss. |
| Returns | The ease of the returns process: return window and conditions, return shipping cost, refund speed, restocking fees. |

Each attribute is read from the sentiment of the content the assistants cite on that topic, for instance reviews that mention late deliveries or praise an easy return. A higher value means the content the assistants draw on describes the store more positively on that attribute. An overall trust value combines the three.

### Chart and ranked list

* **Trust chart.** A bar chart of the overall trust value per store, current period against the previous period, filterable by AI model, market and competitors.
* **Ranked store list.** Rank, logo and domain, store type, average value and the value per attribute, colour coded. Searchable by store name or domain and sortable by any column.

Stores are tagged by type: your own website, marketplaces and competitor stores.

### Store detail panel

Selecting a store opens a panel with:

* **Trust comparison.** A bar chart comparing the store's three attribute values with the store you select, current period against previous period.
* **Attribute explanation.** Each attribute expands to explain why delivery, delivery date or returns perception differs from the selected store, drawn from what the assistants said.
* **Citations.** The articles, reviews and comparison pages that discuss the store's delivery or returns, with the count per source, links, and a source type tag such as editorial, comparison or retailer.

### How to read it

* A marketplace or competitor ahead of your own store on EDD or returns means the assistants direct shoppers there on reliability grounds.
* A low EDD value usually points to the promise rather than the trucks: unclear or missing delivery dates on product pages, or reviews about missed dates.
* The citations show which publications and review sites shape the perception, so you know where to address a complaint or where coverage is missing.

## Set up in the portal

No configuration is needed beyond an active product category. Go to **AI Commerce Visibility** > **Trust**.

1. Select the product category at the top of the page, then narrow by market, AI model, competitors or persona.
2. Read the trust chart and find your store in the ranked list.
3. Select the store ranked above you to open its detail panel and compare the three attributes. Expand an attribute to read the explanation.
4. Scroll to the citations to see which reviews and publications informed the assistants.
5. Select **View Prompts** on the chart to open the prompts and answers behind it.

## FAQ

### Does this need an integration with my carriers or warehouse?

No. The Trust tab reads how AI assistants describe a store from the public content they cite, such as reviews and articles. Your internal delivery data is not used.

### We track on-time delivery internally. Why is our value low?

AI assistants cannot see your internal dashboard. They read what customers say online. A small share of loud complaints about missed dates can shape the description even when most deliveries are on time. The citations in the store's detail panel show which content is doing that.

### Can I see the specific reviews?

Yes. The citations section of a store's detail panel links to the sources the assistants drew on, tagged by type.

### What can marketing fix if logistics owns delivery?

The promise. A low EDD value often comes from unclear delivery communication on product pages rather than slow delivery. Showing accurate estimated delivery dates and clear return terms gives the assistants something to cite.

### How is Trust different from the Merchant tab?

The [Merchant tab](https://developers.perform.ai/products/ai-commerce-visibility/sales-channel-visibility.md) compares stores on shipping options, discounts, product selection, shopping experience and authenticity. Trust compares them on estimated delivery dates, delivery experience and returns.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
| - | - | - |
| Your store has no value on an attribute | The assistants found no content discussing your store on that attribute in the selected period | Widen the date range or remove the AI model filter. Publish clear delivery and return information for the assistants to cite. |
| Trust values differ from one AI assistant to another | Each assistant draws on different sources | Use the LLM model filter to compare, and the citations to see which sources each one uses. |
| A marketplace is ahead of your store on EDD | The content the assistants cite describes the marketplace's delivery dates more positively | Show accurate estimated delivery dates on your product pages and address reviews about missed dates. |
| The ranked list does not include a competitor's store | The competitor is not configured for this category | Add it under **Configuration** > **Product Category**. |
